Things to Do in Lloydminster

Located in the Central Parkland Region on both sides of the Alberta-Saskatchewan border, Lloydminster is a beautiful little city with a lot for visitors to see and do.

 

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy spending time in Bud Miller All Season Park. The park is a great place for hiking, bird watching and fishing. There are areas for horseshoes, lawn bowling, mini golf, and volleyball. The park also contains a soccer pitch, skateboard park and tennis courts. In the winter months, the park is a popular destination for ice fishing, skating, tobogganing and cross-country skiing. The park is also home to the Lloydminster Leisure Centre, which has a wave pool, waterslide and fitness centre.

 

In addition, Lloydminster has several municipal parks with playgrounds, baseball diamonds, basketball courts and trails for walking and biking. Lake V Park is a designated no-leash park that allows pet owners to let their furry friends run free. Weaver Park is equipped with campsites and a mini golf course.

 

Golfers will enjoy playing 18 holes at the Lloydminster Golf and Country Club, a semi-private club with reasonable greens fees.

 

The Barr Colony Heritage Cultural Centre will provide an afternoon of educational fun for the whole family. Visitors can take in the public art gallery, antique museum, wildlife display and heavy oil science centre.

 

Offering a diverse range of musical and theatrical performances, the Vic Juba Community Theatre is Lloydminster's main concert hall. The theatre hosts from 160 to 170 events annually in Lloydminster and specifically sponsors a series of 12 to 15 events called "The Dr. H. A. McDonald Series."

 

Those looking to shop can head into historic downtown Lloydminster, home to over 100 shops, restaurants and services. The Lloyd Mall is home to several national retailers and department stores.
