Attending Reeves College at the age of 35 was not something I had ever seen myself doing. None the less, I knew I needed to further my education and Reeves College was where I began that journey. I made an appointment and a few days later went in and was on my way to becoming a college graduate. My journey at Reeves was one I will never forget. The instructors were wonderful to work with and kept me very motivated to believe I could soon be a graduate. I worked very hard over the next 9 months, and soon it was time to go to my on-the-job training. I was placed in a small oil and gas company. I , then, put my skills I learned in school to good use. My practicum was 4 weeks, and once it was finished I was made an offer for employment. I took the job and am still currently employed with this company. Reeves was not only an educational experience, it was an opening to grow myself, in the work world, meet great people, and gain a confidence in myself I had never had. I started school to show my kids that mom was capable. At the end, I was class valedictorian, had an excellent GPA, and 3 very proud kids of a momma who once thought she could never do this.

After doing the same job for 7 years, my body was worn down and I no longer felt challenged. I was looking for a career change, but I did not want to go back to school for 4 years. That is when a friend told me about her daughter who went to Reeves College and found a really good job after taking the Oil and Gas Administration program. I decided to take the leap and I enrolled in the Business Management Program.
The small class sizes allowed more individual attention from the teachers, and some of the courses allowed you to work at your own pace, taking work home if you needed to finish before the deadlines. This learning style worked very well for me, and I was able to excel because of the self-empowerment. I finished a diploma course in 10 months and was able to finally change my career.
The practicum coordinator worked very hard to find the students a placement, and she lined up my first job for me. It was easier to get to know people in the small class setting, and I really enjoyed getting to know the teachers and the students. The teachers were very friendly and approachable. I feel confident that my computer and interpersonal skills have been upgraded, and I am ready to move forward in my career.

I started teaching Accounting, part-time, at a community college in 1989. Then in 2001, I went over to Korea to teach English as a Second Language for a total of about 2 years. Over the past 12 years I have taught ESL, Accounting, Business and computer courses in a number of countries in Europe and Asia.
I enjoy working with people and watching them mature and grow over the program period. Teaching accounting came easily to me as I have a CMA certification and many years of experience in the field. I became a certified ESL instructor to pursue my passion for travel. I am able to learn so much more living and working in different countries, meeting the people and interacting with the students than just a 2 week vacation.
I inspire my students by involving the students in the learning process. I am always asking open-ended, leading questions to promote discussion, and to encourage students to provide examples from their lives that reflect and support the course material. I use humor often in class, as I see humor as an important part of keeping the students engages and interested in the course material.
Teaching is therapeutic for me. When I am listening to questions and encouraging discussion , all my focus and energy is on the students, and I cannot daydream, or be stressed about other issues. At the end of a class my mind is clear and fresh, and I am ready to get on with my life.

It has been a few years since I have attended school. It was great to see how easy learning can be thanks to the technology. Reeves is very innovative with he use of Ipads instead of textbooks. It is a lot easier to take learning home with your and wherever you go. It is very exciting to see how far we have come.

In my few months so far at Reeves College, I have already learned so much. My teachers have been amazing, the amount of help available to me is incredible. Being fresh out of highschool I expected college to be boring and really hard. But coming to Reeves has shown me differently. The classes are smaller but the people I have met, make my days much better, and my teachers are so nice. I truly believe that coming to Reeves College was the best choice I could have made when choosing my path to post secondary. I feel safe and accepted here, which to me is a very new experience that I enjoy every much.

It is an extremely hard road financially but knowing the outcome and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel makes it worth while.

I chose Reeves College because they have smaller classes for more one-on-one time between student and instructor. It gave the class a, home away from home, feeling. Everyone has been very helpful and supportive (even people I do not know) and everyone always have a smile on their face.
I chose the Oil and Gas Administrative course because I really want to gain a well paid and enjoyable career. My experience so far has been nothing but great. I really enjoyed getting to choose what time I wanted to take my courses, how flexible and understanding the instructors were. All-in-all, everyone is very kind.
I look forward to finishing my courses and getting a career but I will also miss everyone from my classes. School has never been easy for me, but everyone here makes everything feel achievable.

My experience with Reeves College has been a stepping stone in my life. They have provided me an opportunity to change my life for the better. I have met some kind and amazing people, who I have become close friends with. We have created a support system between ourselves to encourage each other to succeed. It has been a positive experience because they place you in your program which consists of small and intimate classes.
I have been taught by many good instructors. They are so good that I keep asking what else do they teach because I want to learn everything from them. The instructors want the best for their students. They encourage us to think positive about ourselves and they push us to do our best. Reeves College was not my original choice, I actually came in to get a comparison. I went to CDI College and at the end, was told to come back in April to start registration process for the May class.
It was purely by accident that I sent a letter to Reeves College. I had to reschedule my appointment at really short notice and Ken Hoover accommodated the change.
I stepped into the building with a set mind that this is not where I want to attend college. In the elevator there were two ladies and we all smiled at each other. One of them asked where I was going and I told her Reeves College to meet with Mr. Hoover.
It turned out to be Barb--the warm, loving, and welcoming face of Reeves College. From the moment I stepped into the reception room, it was like coming home.
Reeves College is one super place to visit. They are professional, very thorough and yet ensures that you are cared for. I made my decision to attend Reeves College.
My short time here has been really challenging and stimulating. The atmosphere is so warm and encouraging and I know that I will have a great and fulfilling time here at Reeves College.

I started working for Reeves College in 2003, before I had ever heard of the Eminata Group. I began my career with Reeves College as an Administrative Assistant at Reeves College, Lloydminster campus in Alberta. I worked under the direct supervision of Mr. Clayton Reeves, owner and founder. He was a great leader, innovator and an incredibly motivating individual.
Mr. Reeves was a strict man, he believed in a high standard of education and providing quality instructor lead classes, which were delivered by a group of phenomenal instructors. In 2003, he could no longer run the college as he was aging and had no one to take over the family built business. Because Mr. Reeves valued all that he had built and had a well known reputation for providing top notch education, he sold Reeves College to Dr. Peter Chung and we eventually grew to be a part of an even higher standard of education, the Eminata Group.
In the past 10 years, (with a few years away from the college) I have had the pleasure of meeting hundreds upon hundreds of applicants and assisting them in making that life changing decision to attend college. I considered myself lucky to be involved with an organization that provides both industry specific training and models a theoretical/practical college experience.
We truly do change lives through education, and I hope to continue to do so for many years with Reeves College and the Eminata Group.

I came to the Reeves College Campus Team on May 30, 2012. I was immediately taken in and smothered with kindness and care. To see the instructors making a difference, really made me feel at ease knowing these professionals, not only were doing their jobs but they actually wanted to see their students succeed! It truly is like one big extended family here. With Barb, Yvonne, Jan and Lesley making sure I was drinking enough water and getting something to eat.
I was able to make a very seamless transition. Everyone knows their roles and go beyond what is expected. The character, integrity, empathy, humility or the Reeves City Centre College Team, along with some well placed laughter are the ingredients needed for a student body to excel.
We have so many students who come from diverse backgrounds with an eclectic mix of life experience. When we meet our students, sometimes the Kleenex box comes out as they relay their life story and struggles.
It is truly humbling to see the Reeves College Team in action. The extra effort and extra hours, the willingness to go that extra mile, has made me appreciate all that I have learned in my short time with the Reeves Team (Family).

I have been a part-time instructor at Reeves College City Center since 2009 and full-time since May 2012. I have always felt at home at this school. Working with the other instructors is great. We work well together to make things better for the students and of course to make things better for us in the classroom. By sharing our ideas and knowledge, we greatly benefit our students and the school as a whole.
Every day I look forward to teaching the students something new. I love the moments in the classroom when the students make that connection to the information that I am teaching and to how it applies. It is great to see students graduate and move on to very rewarding careers. Especially when they come back to visit and tell us how much they are using everything we have taught them and how it is making a difference in their lives now.
Being an instructor means long hours; correcting exams after hours and on weekends, preparing for the classes everyday or week. But all that effort is well worth it when you see you the students improve and how it makes a difference in their lives.

If it was not for my instructors, I do not think I would have done as well as I have in my courses. I am about half-way done now and thanks to my instructors knowledge in and of their field and their dedication to our education, I am sitting near the top of my class.
Students have all the resources they need right at their fingertips with their Ipad and/or their computer in the classrooms. Classes are small, so there are lots of chances for participation in the class and one-on-one help if you need it.
I am so glad to have found out about Reeves College. I do not think I would have done as good academically if I would have gone to the local community college. The time from my application date to my actual start date was less than a month. WOW!!
I would recommend Reeves Lethbridge to anyone! The instructors and staff here are AWESOME!! They make you feel like you are part of their team from Day 1.

We work in groups to find answers about some of the material being used. As diverse as we are, we can come together to learn and interact.
My experience has been wonderful. Having an amazing teacher has definitely made my transition back to school a smooth one. It has been many years since I was in school. The LMS is very innovative in our classrooms. It makes it easier to communicate with our instructors and classmates. It is easy to use and provides a great course outline.

For the most part we used Ipads and computers in replacement of paperback textbooks. My overall experience was really good. I enjoyed my instructors and the course I took through Reeves.

In our classrooms, we each had our own computer and lots of working space. Overall, I really the smaller classes and the helpful instructors. It is nice to have hands-on instructors to answer questions. I have been to other schools where we were self-paced and were taught through headphones. It was terrible. The classroom environment resembled a realistic workplace. There are many different personalities to work beside everyday, just like the real world. It is great to have all our books on iPads. And our computers were super fast and the internet always worked. My overall experience is very good. The campus is clear, up-to-date, everything works all the time, and the staff is eager to answer my questions.
