Tradition is important at Reeves College. Since 1961, the college has earned its reputation for nurturing skilled business professionals by preparing Albertans for exciting new careers. The college maintains this strong commitment to this day. The admissions staff, administration and instructors strive to provide students with the training and skills necessary for career success.
The college develops programs in consultation with the health care and business communities to ensure that graduates meet industry demands. Students learn current software applications, programs and techniques so that they develop marketable skills. Additionally, industry-experienced instructors give students insight into the current job market, thereby increasing their chances of employment in their career of choice. Furthermore, free upgrading for alumni ensures that Reeves College grads will always be in demand.
Business programs are the heart of Reeves College's curriculum. For over 45 years, the Department of Business has trained students to excel as administrative professionals. Recently, the department expanded its course offerings to meet Alberta's business market needs. The Legal Administrative Assistant program introduces students to the day-to-day practices of a Canadian law office. The Paralegal program provides students with a deeper understanding of the Canadian court system and trains them to be key members of a legal team. Furthermore, the Oil and Gas Administrative Assistant program prepares students for careers in Alberta's booming industry.
Over the last few years, the college introduced a number of programs to meet the growing demand for services within the health care industry. The Medical Office Assistant program prepares students to work in medical office administration as admitting clerks, medical transcriptionists or billing clerks. The Retail Pharmacy Assistant program teaches students the pharmaceutical dispensing and inventory techniques used in retail and community pharmacies.
