Educated Albertans May Have a Leg Up at Canada Career Week

Thursday, November 3, 2011

Whether they're taking paralegal courses or pursuing a business management diploma, college students know that they will face an extremely competitive job market upon graduation. Students who want to get a jump on the competition and begin preparing for their careers sooner may want to pay a visit to any of the informative events held at the 2011 Canada Career Week.

Sponsored by the government of Alberta, Canada Career Week is a social movement to help individuals throughout the province find jobs, learn new skills and prepare themselves for life in the workforce. The event combines educational workshops, lectures and training exhibitions with job shadowing opportunities.

Topics covered in the educational events will include resume building, nailing a job interview, computer skills and more. Alberta Human Services staff members will also be on hand to help explain the many free services and support that the organization offers career seekers.

The event will run from November 13-19, 2011 at locations across Alberta, with some of the biggest events of the week happening in the city of Edmonton - including the Career Week Fair, which will feature workshops and host representatives from roughly 175 companies and organizations looking for promising new employees.

Canada Career Week is a great resource for anyone looking to enter the job market. Combined with the right training from Reeves College, this year’s job search will be a whole lot easier.
